The CEO of LG Group stated on Monday that the company aims to play a leading role in the development of robots for the home environment by establishing partnerships with global leading artificial intelligence companies such as Google and Nvidia. He mentioned that the company aims to develop household robot products and referred to the home as the "ultimate unstructured environment" compared to industrial settings. He said, "A sock on the floor, a child running into the room suddenly, or the constantly changing pace of family life all expose the limitations of robots lacking real situational understanding." The CEO mentioned that the company's 70 years of experience in home appliance development has helped them accumulate what he calls life data, which is a deep understanding of the home environment. LG is currently collaborating with Google to enhance the situational understanding capabilities of their Gemini robot, and they are also utilizing Nvidia's Isaac robot development platform to train and test robots in a digital twin environment.
