The State Council Information Office will hold a press conference at 10:00 am on March 16. Fu Linghui, spokesperson of the National Bureau of Statistics, chief economist and director of the Department of Comprehensive Statistics of the National Economy, stated that overall, China's economy had a strong start in January and February, showing signs of positive development. However, there are uncertainties in the current external environment due to increased geopolitical conflicts and uncertainties in external spill-over impacts. Domestically, there is still a contradiction of strong supply and weak demand, leading to difficulties for some enterprises. In the next phase, it is necessary to fully implement the decisions made at the Central Economic Work Conference and the National Two Sessions, implement more proactive macro policies, continuously expand domestic demand, optimize supply, develop new productive forces according to local conditions, advance in the construction of a unified national market, promote sustainable and healthy economic development, and better safeguard and improve people's livelihoods.
