Electric vehicles can reach speeds of up to 75 km/h? Hello Electric violated the new national standard, but customer service claimed that the maximum speed does not exceed 25 km/h.
CCTV 315 Evening Gala reported that there have been frequent reports of electric bicycles speeding illegally, with Hello Renting's electric bicycles being named. According to the report, Hello Renting's electric bicycles are currently distributed in over 100 cities nationwide with over 5000 stores. Employees at Hello Renting's electric bicycle rental stores stated that their electric bicycles can reach speeds of up to 75 kilometers per hour. Hello Renting's provincial business manager, Manager Mi, revealed: "Even before the implementation of the new national standard, some electric bicycle distributors, relying on a large number of electric bicycles that have not yet been produced, applied for electric bicycle licenses in advance with the qualified certificates. When customers need these vehicles, they ask the manufacturers to produce corresponding vehicles in accordance with the standards before the new national standard. These newly produced electric bicycles naturally become the old vehicles before the introduction of the new national standard, thus avoiding the mutual recognition and coordination mechanism of one vehicle, one pool, one charge, one code in the new national standard, making it easy to remove the speed limit restrictions on the vehicles." In response to this situation, Sina Finance asked Hello Renting's electric bicycle rental customer service about the maximum speed of the vehicles, but they stated: "The maximum speed of the electric bike does not exceed 25 kilometers per hour." There was no response from the customer service on Hello's official website before the article was published.
