Market Supervision Administration: Crack down severely on financial advertisements promoting "capital preservation and guaranteed returns" and other irregularities.
According to the State Administration for Market Regulation, by the year 2025, the administration will effectively strengthen the enforcement of advertising regulations, refine and improve advertising regulations, and solidly carry out actions to assist enterprises in complying with advertising regulations. Throughout the year, a total of 44,500 cases of advertising violations were investigated, resulting in fines totaling 252 million yuan, effectively maintaining order in the advertising market and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of consumers. The State Administration for Market Regulation further stated that they will focus on key areas closely related to people's lives, such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, health foods, education and training, and financial management, and will crackdown on prominent issues such as exaggerated claims of medical efficacy, false advertising of food as curing diseases, false promises in education and training, and misleading claims in financial advertisements.
In response to new formats such as the Internet, live streaming e-commerce, and AI-generated advertisements, comprehensive supervision will be implemented to strictly regulate issues such as influencers endorsing false advertisements, illegal AI face-swapping advertisements, disguised native advertising, and pop-up ads that cannot be easily closed. There will be increased exposure of cases, with 40 typical cases of illegal advertisements exposed in 4 batches to create a strong deterrent.
At the same time, market regulation authorities actively promote the concept of service-oriented law enforcement, organizing actions to assist enterprises in compliance and pushing advertising regulation from "punishment after the fact" to "prevention before the fact." Through policy advocacy and the dissemination of typical cases, businesses are helped to clarify legal boundaries, actively abandoning deceptive and misleading marketing practices that violate the law.
