Qiongzhou Strait Spring Festival transportation volume hits a new high, with a 61.66% increase in new energy vehicles from Haian to Haikou.

On March 14th, the reporter learned from the maritime department of Zhanjiang, Guangdong that during the 2026 Spring Festival travel rush, a total of 4.6637 million passengers and 1.1627 million vehicles were transported on the Hainan-Haikou route of the Qiongzhou Strait, including 0.2053 million new energy vehicles. Compared with last year, this represents an increase of 11.7%, 9.45%, and 61.66% respectively. The peak of passenger and vehicle flow occurred on February 24th, with 360 sailings of the Qiongzhou Strait passenger ferry on that day, sending a total of 183,300 passengers and 42,262 vehicles, setting a new daily transportation record.
