UN Secretary-General Guterres said: "I have just arrived in Beirut to express condolences to the people of Lebanon. They were not voluntarily involved in this war, but were forced into it. The United Nations and I will spare no effort to fight for the Lebanese and the region to secure the peaceful future they deserve."
