Liu Wei, former First Inspector of the Regulatory and Disposal Office of the China Banking Regulatory Commission, has been expelled from the Communist Party and dismissed from public office.
According to the news from the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission of China, as well as the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team stationed in the State Administration of Financial Supervision and Administration and the Xiangyang Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision in Hubei Province, the serious disciplinary and legal issues of Liu Wei, former chief inspector of the Department of Rehabilitation and Disposal of the State Administration of Financial Supervision and Administration, were investigated and put on file with the approval of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.
Investigation revealed that Liu Wei lost his ideal and faith, betrayed his original mission, violated organizational discipline by using his position to seek personal gains for others, and violated integrity discipline by misappropriating funds from management and service objects, causing expenses that should have been paid by himself to be paid by others. He abusively used his position to seek benefits for others in bank loans, stock transfers, contracting of clearing and auditing services, and employee recruitment, illegally accepting huge amounts of money.
Liu Wei's serious violations of party organizational discipline and integrity discipline constitute a serious violation of duties and may involve bribery crimes. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, he has not restrained himself and has seriously affected the party with bad influence, therefore he should be dealt with severely. Pursuant to the relevant provisions of the "Disciplinary Regulations of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Administrative Punishment Law for Public Officials of the People's Republic of China," the decision was made by the Party Committee of the State Administration of Financial Supervision and Administration to expel Liu Wei from the Party; the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team stationed in the State Administration of Financial Supervision and Administration decided to remove Liu Wei from public office; and confiscate his ill-gotten gains.
After deliberation by the Xiangyang Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision in Hubei Province, the case involving Liu Wei's suspected crimes will be transferred to the procuratorate for legal investigation and prosecution, along with the associated assets.
