Lotus China President Qin Peiji was absent from the technology release conference and was taken away to assist in the investigation.
On March 4th, Lotus Technology held the FOR ME Technology conference, with the absence of the President of China, Qin Peiji. On March 12th, it was reported that Qin Peiji had been taken away to assist in an investigation. Two informed sources confirmed that after Qin left Volvo in August 2023, Geely conducted an internal investigation on him. Another source from Lotus China mentioned that Qin Peiji had not been seen in the Shanghai office for some time, with the internal explanation being sick leave, but rumors about him being taken away for investigation had been circulating internally. It was understood that after Geely reported the internal investigation results to the police, they decided to open a case for investigation, and subsequently took Qin Peiji away to assist in the investigation. At the FOR ME technology conference on March 4th, the former President of Lotus China, Mao Jingbo, and the CEO of Lotus Group, Feng Qingfeng, who had replaced Qin Peiji, were both present at the event, but Qin Peiji was nowhere to be found. As of the time of writing, Geely has not responded to any updates on Qin Peiji's situation.
