A employee of Guotai Junan International was taken away by the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption, insiders say it may be due to personal involvement in insider trading.
Before trading on March 12, Guotai Junan International announced that on March 10, the Securities and Futures Commission and the Independent Commission Against Corruption of Hong Kong visited the company's main business location in Hong Kong to execute a search warrant, and an employee was detained by the Independent Commission Against Corruption. The company has immediately suspended all operations, duties, and powers of the relevant employee. Informed sources said that the employee was taken from his home by the Independent Commission Against Corruption, possibly due to personal involvement in insider trading or other illegal activities, rather than the previous speculation on the internet related to the investment banking business he was engaged in.
