London Labor Society announced that it will provide insurance for "virtually anyone" in the Gulf region.
According to a report by the Financial Times citing Patrick Davison, head of underwriting at London Lloyds, Lloyd's of London stated that it will "continue to provide cover for almost all those seeking insurance." This statement comes as the insurance market responds to criticism regarding the cancellation of policies and increased premiums for vessels in the Gulf region. Davison stated that the slowdown in maritime shipping is "not an insurance issue, but a matter of ship and crew safety." The report quoted him as saying, "All Lloyd's underwriters continue to underwrite business and will continue to provide cover for almost all those seeking insurance." Earlier on Monday, Charles Roxburgh, chairman of Lloyd's of London, met with British Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak.
