CATL's energy storage battery business is expected to surpass its power battery business.

On March 10th, John H. Kwon, the global general counsel of CATL, pointed out at the 2026 International Battery Technology and Innovation Summit that currently, at CATL, the proportion of power and storage battery business is roughly 80% to 20%. "We believe that in the next 3 years, this ratio will reach 50%: 50%. Afterwards, the storage battery business may even surpass the power battery," John said.
