Analyst: Renault's growth plan outside of Europe is key to its new strategy.
Analysts at Bernstein stated in a research report that Renault's strategic updates were not surprising, and the key issue for the French automaker will be explaining the strategic significance of its growth plans outside of Europe. These analysts suggest that the company may need to convince investors how expanding in low-cost regions like India can create a favorable supply chain network for its European production bases. Renault, while announcing its performance goals for 2025 last month, also set targets for profitability and cash flow. The group aims to increase sales of its Renault brand to over 2 million vehicles by 2030. Bernstein noted that with the brand's sales in 2025 projected to be 1.6 million vehicles, achieving the 2 million target would require a 4.2% annual sales growth, compared to the 3.2% growth projected for 2025. The stock price rose by 2.7%.
