The Beijing Investigation Team of the National Bureau of Statistics released relevant data. In February 2026, influenced by the Spring Festival, the city's consumer price index rose month-on-month, with the year-on-year increase widening. From a month-on-month perspective, the CPI rose by 0.9%. Among them, food prices rose by 1.7%. In terms of food, due to increased demand during the festival period, the price of fresh vegetables rose from a 4.3% decrease last month to a 4.9% increase, affecting the CPI to rise by approximately 0.08 percentage points; prices of aquatic products, pork, eggs, beef, and lamb increased by 2.1% to 3.6%, collectively affecting the CPI to rise by approximately 0.09 percentage points. Non-food prices rose by 0.7%, affecting the CPI to rise by approximately 0.64 percentage points. Among non-food items, the prices of industrial consumer goods rose by 0.4%, and due to the impact of rising international commodity prices, the prices of gold jewelry rose by 5.7%, gasoline prices rose by 3.2%, collectively affecting the CPI to rise by approximately 0.10 percentage points year-on-year, due to the combined effects of the Spring Festival and the recovery of consumer demand, the CPI increase expanded from 0.1% the previous month to 1.4%. Non-food prices rose by 1.4%, expanding by 1.3 percentage points compared to the previous month. Among non-food items, the prices of industrial consumer goods rose by 1.7%, with the price of gold jewelry rising by 76.9%.
