Japanese finance minister: G7 energy ministers will hold an online meeting tonight.
Japanese Finance Minister Katsunobu Kato stated that after the meeting of G7 finance ministers yesterday, G7 energy ministers will hold an online meeting tonight to discuss how to address concerns regarding energy supply. Kato mentioned that after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz caused oil prices to soar, Japan is still considering whether additional energy price relief measures are needed. The G7 has shown coordination in dealing with the surge in oil prices, and communication among members helps in lowering crude oil prices. The finance ministers also discussed the issue of expanding sources of resources.
