The new Mercedes-Benz car platform will first be launched in China and will use the Geely architecture.
At the end of January this year, Mercedes-Benz management began to appear frequently at Geely's Hangzhou Bay R&D Center. According to multiple industry sources, the two automotive giants are in talks about a collaboration at the level of whole vehicle electronics and electrical systems. In early February, Geely's management team, accompanied by translators, went to Shanghai's JinQiao to further solidify the collaboration direction with Mercedes-Benz. Currently, the two sides have reached a preliminary consensus. Mercedes-Benz will develop a new electric vehicle platform based on Geely's GEEA electronic and electrical architecture. Mercedes-Benz is currently conducting POC verification based on the GEEA 4.0 version.
