Analysis report on passenger flow of Shanghai rail transit in 2025 released.

The Shanghai Traffic Command Center introduced that by 2025, the total number of passengers transported by the city's rail transit system will reach 3.71 billion, ranking first in the country. The average daily passenger flow will be 10.15 million, a slight decrease of 1.1% compared to the previous year. The passenger transportation intensity will be 11,600 passengers per kilometer per day, ranking fourth in the country. By the end of 2025, the westward extension of Line 2 - from Panxiang Road/National Academy of Economic Strategy Station to National Exhibition and Convention Center Station, as well as the opening of the 18th line Phase II project, will be put into operation consecutively, bringing the total operating mileage of Shanghai's rail transit network to 906 kilometers.
