Major stock indices in Europe closed mostly down.

The European Stoxx 600 index fell by 1.1%, the European Stoxx index fell by 1.22%, and the Eurozone blue-chip stock index fell by 1.28%. The French CAC 40 index fell by 0.86%, the Spanish IBEX index fell by 1.11%, the UK FTSE 100 index fell by 1.33%, and the German DAX index fell by 1.13%.
