Cai Jianchun: Now is the golden period for the development of REITs in our country.

On March 6th, Cai Jianchun, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the general manager of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, stated at a CPPCC economic sector group meeting that now is the golden period for developing Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), and REITs should be developed from a product into a market. Currently, China's REITs are starting to test the water in the infrastructure sector, and there is strong interest from enterprises, including state-owned enterprises, foreign enterprises, and private enterprises, with considerable returns on investment. The next step is to promote the development of REITs in the capital market, and turn REITs into a market.
