This move has escalated competition between OpenAI and Anthropic PBC, as the latter faces new risks in its confrontation with the US Department of Defense. OpenAI announced on Thursday that the GPT-5.4 model is more capable in tasks such as generating spreadsheets, documents, and presentations, and reduces the need for repetitive communication with users. The model also enhances its ability to answer complex questions by accessing information from multiple sources, analyzing it, and providing responses. The company also revealed the launch of a new set of tools to help professionals simplify financial analysis, investment memos, and other tasks. This product can integrate with ChatGPT applications from financial data and research firms such as FactSet Research Systems Inc. and Third Bridge. OpenAI also stated that users can directly use ChatGPT to build and analyze financial models in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
