After Petronet LNG, the long-term supplier of India's Gail Gas Company, announced force majeure due to restrictions on shipping, the company is considering reducing supply to natural gas users. Gail Gas Company stated on Thursday that in the context of escalating Middle East conflicts, Petronet LNG issued a force majeure notice due to restricted shipping, and the company will assess whether to cut supply to natural gas users. US and Israel's military actions against Iran have disrupted fuel transportation in the Gulf region, affecting India's import of liquefied natural gas from its major supplier Qatar. Due to the impact of US and Israeli attacks on Iran and the expansion of the conflict, oil and liquefied natural gas transportation through the Strait of Hormuz has nearly come to a standstill, with some vessels in the area being attacked before. Gail Gas Company stated that since March 4, Petronet's supply of liquefied natural gas to them has dropped to zero, and the potential impact of force majeure cannot be quantified at the moment. The natural gas sales company stated in a filing to the stock exchange that currently other channels and suppliers for Gail's supply of liquefied natural gas have not been affected.
