Microsoft said that the company has helped to dismantle a large-scale criminal platform. This platform specifically sells ready-made online hacking toolkits to novice cybercriminals. Microsoft stated that the action announced by the company on Wednesday involved the seizure of over 300 domains, including some fraudulent website login pages. Microsoft also collaborated with cloud service provider Cloudflare to block the digital infrastructure supporting phishing tools. Countless hackers have utilized these tools to trick targets into clicking malicious links. Approximately 20 companies and organizations participated in this action, including cybersecurity companies Proofpoint and Intel 471, cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, and the European law enforcement agency Europol. During the operation, Europol coordinated with law enforcement officials from Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Poland, Spain, and the United Kingdom to collectively seize the related domain names.
