British authorities say a ship was hit by an unidentified object near the Strait of Hormuz.

On the 4th local time, the UK Maritime Trade Operations office received a report of an incident in the waters east of the Strait of Hormuz, about 2 nautical miles north of Oman. A container ship reported that it was struck by an unknown object above the waterline, causing a fire in the engine room. Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
