On March 4th at noon, the press conference of the Fourth Session of the Fourteenth National People's Congress was held at the press conference hall of the Great Hall of the People. The spokesperson of the Congress, Lou Qinjian, answered questions from Chinese and foreign journalists about the agenda of the conference and related issues of the National People's Congress. Regarding the China-Europe relationship, Lou Qinjian stated that the essence of the economic and trade relationship between China and Europe is complementary advantages and mutual benefit, and cooperation with China is beneficial for Europe to develop its economy and improve the well-being of its people. He gave examples such as the China-Central Europe Commercial and Trade Logistics Cooperation Park in Hungary, which has established a platform for interaction between Chinese and European companies, continuously enhancing Hungary's position as a hub for European logistics. The Peljesac Bridge project in Croatia, funded by the EU and constructed by a Chinese company, has fulfilled the long-standing wish of the people by connecting the south and north and turning a barrier into a passage. China State Grid's investment in Portugal's national energy grid company has allowed Portugal to share China's experience in grid operation management and integrating new energy, supporting and assisting Portugal in promoting energy transition and development, achieving "mutual learning, mutual reference, and mutual benefit." The Arrow Energy Company in Australia, a joint investment by China National Petroleum Corporation and Shell from the UK, has fully realized complementary advantages, providing innovative, efficient, and environmentally friendly energy solutions for third countries, promoting local employment and economic development. Similarly, European companies investing in China also enjoy the benefits of China's high-quality development. For example, the BASF Integrated Base in Zhanjiang, China, is their largest single investment project to date; and Sanofi's insulin raw material project in Beijing has become their largest insulin injection production base in the Asia-Pacific region. These companies not only meet the demands of the Chinese market but also enhance their global competitiveness. Lou Qinjian pointed out that there is no fundamental conflicts of interest and geopolitical contradictions between China and Europe. China is willing to work with Europe to uphold the basic status of partnership, properly handle economic and trade disputes, create more cooperative agendas, and join hands to address global challenges. Last year, China and the European Parliament simultaneously lifted restrictions on exchanges, restarting legislative exchanges that had been interrupted for many years. The National People's Congress is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges with the European Parliament and national parliaments of European countries, continuously enhance understanding, expand consensus, promote cooperation, and help China-Europe relations stay on a steady course for long-term stability.
