MUJI's flagship store on Huaihai Road 755 in Shanghai will close at the end of March. Liu Jing, Senior Manager of MUJI's brand communication department, told Interface News that this closure is a normal channel adjustment and will not affect MUJI's strategy of opening around 40 new stores nationwide every year. MUJI is still preparing for the next world flagship store in Shanghai. As an important experimental store for MUJI in the Chinese market, the Huaihai 755 store has introduced many domestic first-time experiments, such as setting up an Open MUJI public space, regular handcraft workshops and lifestyle lectures; also introducing Caf&Meal MUJI with a transparent kitchen to allow customers to see the food-making process.
