The Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Shanghai Municipal Data Bureau, and National Blockchain Technology Innovation Center signed a memorandum of cooperation.

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Shanghai Municipal Data Bureau, and National Blockchain Technology Innovation Center announced on March 2 that they have jointly signed a "Shanghai-Hong Kong Freight Trade and Financial Digital Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding." According to the memorandum of understanding, the HKMA, Shanghai Municipal Data Bureau, and National Blockchain Technology Innovation Center will jointly research the innovation cooperation of digital technology and applications and promote the application innovation of digital technology in areas such as freight trade and finance. All parties will explore the use of digital technology to build a "cross-border platform," conduct cross-border financial cooperation in the Ensemble project, research how to use electronic bills of lading, and promote integration with commercial data communication and Cargox to promote trade financing between the two regions.
