On the evening of March 1, the Zhejiang Provincial Seismological Bureau issued a situation report, stating that according to the official determination of the Fujian Seismic Network, at 21:31 on March 1, a 2.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in Zherong County, Ningde City, Fujian Province, with a depth of 6 kilometers. The epicenter was approximately 118 kilometers from Wenzhou City, 139 kilometers from Lishui City, 211 kilometers from Jinhua City, 217 kilometers from Quzhou City, and 343 kilometers from Hangzhou City. The Zhejiang Provincial Seismological Bureau stated that the Chengdu High-tech Disaster Reduction Research Institute released unauthorized warning information, falsely claiming a 4.2 magnitude earthquake in Taishun, Zhejiang Province, attracting widespread attention. During this time period, there were no earthquakes in Zhejiang Province, so the public is advised to pay attention to official information released by the Zhejiang Provincial Seismological Bureau and not to panic.
