National Committee member Liu Yonghao suggests universal distribution of 500 yuan consumption vouchers, which could stimulate consumption by nearly 2 trillion yuan.
In response to the structural biases and other issues with the current consumer coupon policy, Liu Yonghao, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the New Hope Group, suggested at a media communication meeting that China should learn from the experiences of Malaysia and other countries. He recommended issuing "universal consumer coupons" to everyone based on their ID cards, without industry or category restrictions, in order to extend policy benefits to middle and low-income groups and improve people's livelihoods. If each person in the country receives 500 yuan, it could stimulate consumption by nearly 2 trillion yuan.
