According to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the New York Mercantile Exchange triggered a circuit breaker mechanism at the opening of trading this week, causing a two-minute delay in the market opening. CME stated in a press release that the dynamic circuit breaker mechanism for WTI crude oil futures was triggered at 5:00 PM Central Time on Sunday. Trading resumed at 5:02 PM Central Time on Sunday.
