Today, it was learned from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs that the spring fishing ban period system will be implemented in the inland waters of the Pearl River, Huai River, Qiantang River, Min River, and Hainan Province from 0:00 on March 1 to 24:00 on June 30. During the fishing ban period, all fishing operations except for recreational fishing and leisure fishing are prohibited. Rivers like the Pearl River are important inland water systems in China, playing a critical role in the biodiversity of aquatic organisms and the protection of aquatic ecosystems. The Pearl River alone has recorded 659 species of fish. In order to protect aquatic resources, China implements a spring fishing ban period system in rivers like the Pearl River. During the spring fishing ban period, law enforcement will be strengthened in various regions, focusing on key water areas and organizing special surprise inspections during key periods to crackdown on illegal activities such as electrofishing and explosive fishing, as well as illegal fishing, transportation, and sales criminal gangs. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will work with relevant departments to increase inspections and supervision, effectively maintaining the management order during the spring fishing ban period, strengthening species protection and habitat restoration, and protecting aquatic resources and aquatic ecosystems.
