Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Di Maio: Not long ago, I attended the G7 Foreign Ministers' meeting, which specifically discussed the situation in Iran and the new developments following the death of Ayatollah Khamenei. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and support the Iranian people's desire for freedom and respect for human rights. We are working together with our G7 partners to prevent the escalation of conflict, which could endanger regional security and stability, as well as the crucial commercial traffic in the region that is important to us. Eliminating the threat of Iran's nuclear and missile programs remains a top priority, while encouraging cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency. Italy will continue to work with its G7 and EU partners to promote dialogue and support every diplomatic initiative aimed at promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.
