On the 28th, the opening ceremony of the University of Hong Kong Zhangjiang Base was held in Zhangjiang Science City, Pudong New Area, Shanghai. It is introduced that the University of Hong Kong Zhangjiang Base is the first to introduce the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Computing and Data Science, focusing on cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence and quantum information science, and building an integrated innovation ecosystem for industry, academia, research, and application, committed to developing into a world-class Faculty of Computing and Data Science. Starting in January of this year, more than 200 students from the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Computing and Data Science will gradually settle in the Zhangjiang Base to carry out learning and research. In the future, the base will also set up interdisciplinary research institutes in intelligent computing, future electronics, and intelligent manufacturing. "Choosing Shanghai and settling in Zhangjiang, a vibrant and innovative land in Pudong, is an important step for the University of Hong Kong to actively integrate into the overall development of the country." said Zhang Xiang, President of the University of Hong Kong. The Zhangjiang Science City, where the University of Hong Kong Zhangjiang Base is located, is the core engine of Pudong New Area's scientific and technological innovation map, and has laid out the world's largest and most comprehensive cluster of photon science facilities. Pudong New Area also has strong industrial support, with more than 800 companies and nearly 200,000 industry talents in the integrated circuit industry.
