China Theatre Association releases "Ten Actions for Theatre Revival"

In order to fully implement the "Three-Year Action Plan for the Revitalization of Drama" jointly issued by five departments, the China Theatre Association held a symposium in Beijing on February 28 and announced the launch of the "Ten Major Actions" for the revitalization of drama. Chen Yongquan, the Secretary of the Party Group of the Chinese Drama Association and the Vice Chairman of the Council, introduced the "Ten Major Actions", including: deepening the reform of the China Drama Plum Blossom Award, Cao Yu Drama Literature Award and China Drama Festival awards presentation mechanism, advocating for more performances for the audience; actively demonstrating the exemplary role of winners of the Cao Yu Drama Literature Award, strengthening the foundation of drama from the source of creation; implementing national support projects for rare drama genres, increasing protection and inheritance efforts, organizing excellent drama performances, expanding the audience base and influence of rare drama genres. The "Ten Major Actions" also include: building a high-quality leading talent team; promoting the inheritance, popularization, and dissemination of traditional classics; implementing the Plum Blossom Award artist oral history project; supporting the direct access of high-quality drama resources to the grassroots; constructing a good drama review ecosystem; creating a national youth drama activity brand; and expanding a new path for the internationalization of Chinese drama.
