Chilean lithium producer SQM announced that its net profit for the fourth quarter increased due to a favorable market price environment, which raised the average price of lithium and therefore improved performance. The global second largest lithium producer reported a net profit of 1.838 billion US dollars for the fourth quarter, a 53% increase compared to the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter increased by 23.3% to reach 1.32 billion US dollars, compared to 1.07 billion US dollars in the same period last year. Gross profit for the quarter increased by 52.7% to 448.5 million US dollars. SQM CEO Lilian Ramos stated: "The performance of our two main lithium businesses (Nova Andino Litio and International Lithium Division) in the fourth quarter of 2025 reflects record high sales volume." "In November 2025, we began to see early signs of improving supply and demand balance, mainly due to stronger than expected demand for Energy Storage Systems (ESS)."
