Poland plans to introduce a ban on social media for minors. Industry insiders say there should be more emphasis on digital literacy education.
On February 27th local time, Polish Minister of Education Barbara Nowak announced at a press conference that Poland plans to introduce new regulations banning children under the age of 15 from using social media, and will require platforms to be responsible for age verification. In response to the accelerating trend of social media bans for teenagers in many countries around the world, Laura Dufour, Chief Marketing Officer of the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), stated on the same day that GSMA is more inclined to strengthen digital literacy education for parents and students.
