Risk-averse buying pushes up US government bonds, pushing up bond yields to a new low since 2022.

Risk aversion funds continue to flow into US Treasury bonds, pushing the 2-year Treasury yield to a low of 3.373%, the lowest level since August 2022. Intraday, short and medium-term US Treasury yields fell by 5-6 basis points, with the 2s10s spread widening by around 1 basis point. Yields on other maturity bonds also hit yearly lows on Friday, with the 5-year yield approaching 3.5%, the lowest level since October.
