On the 27th local time, Afghan government deputy spokesperson Hamdullah Fetrat issued a statement accusing the Pakistani military of launching attacks on the residences of civilians in Paktika and Khost provinces, resulting in the deaths of 19 civilians and injuring 26 others. Most of the casualties were women and children. Pakistan's Minister of Information and Broadcasting Tarar announced the losses on the Afghan side as of 11:00 pm on the same day. The report stated that there had been 297 deaths and 450 injuries on the Afghan side. In addition, 89 Afghan checkpoints were destroyed, 18 checkpoints were occupied, 135 tanks and armored vehicles were destroyed, and 29 locations in Afghanistan had been identified as potential targets for airstrikes.
