On February 27th, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment held its routine press conference for February. Li Tianwei, Director of the Air Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, stated that there are three key experiences in air pollution prevention and control at the work level: first, emission reduction is crucial, promoting green and low-carbon development in industry, energy, and transportation, reducing pollutant emissions from the source and closely connecting with supply-side structural reforms to guide industrial restructuring. Second, precise governance is the key, always adhering to the five precise measures of problem, time, location, target, and measures, avoiding a one-size-fits-all approach and marching in unison. Third, comprehensive measures are like a treasure trove, comprehensively utilizing various policy tools as well as legal, market, and technological means to effectively stimulate the endogenous power of the whole society for common governance. There are three challenges in the work of preventing and controlling air pollution: first, continuous reduction is difficult, second, deep reduction is under great pressure, and third, precise governance has shortcomings.
