The Market Supervision Administration carried out special spot checks on Lantern Festival and Tangyuan, with overall good quality and safety conditions.

On February 27th, it was learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that in order to effectively ensure food safety during the festival period and create a safe and reassured festival consumption environment, the State Administration for Market Regulation recently organized a special inspection nationwide. The inspection results show that the overall quality and safety of yuanxiao and tangyuan are good. This special inspection covered all 31 provinces in the country, and randomly inspected 2512 batches of yuanxiao and tangyuan in key operating places such as supermarkets, pastry shops, grocery stores, wholesale markets, and convenience stores, including popular brands such as Sinian, Wanzi Matou, and Sanquan. The inspection focused on quality and safety indicators such as sweeteners, colorants, heavy metal elements, and peroxide value that are of concern to the masses. Laboratory tests found no substandard products.
