According to data from the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, the number of foreign patients treated in public hospitals in the city is expected to reach 73,200 by 2025, up over 8% from 67,600 in 2024. It is reported that Shanghai has successively launched international medical pilot projects for both private and public hospitals in 2020 and 2023, and the volume of services continues to grow.
