We will expand our wealth management, asset custody, investment banking and other light capital businesses, optimize our income structure, and address interest rate spread pressure," said a relevant person in charge of a commercial bank's Beijing branch to China Securities Journal. Recently, several banks have held meetings to discuss their work arrangements for 2026. Against the backdrop of continuously narrowing net interest margins, optimizing income structure and increasing the proportion of light capital businesses have become new directions for banks to reshape their profit landscape.
