Barclays and other companies such as Atlas SP Partners have assisted MFS in arranging loans worth over 2 billion. MFS collapsed after being accused of financial misconduct. The judge handling the case mentioned fraud and asset repledging charges against MFS. Spanish Santander and Castlelake are also among the lenders, and JPMorgan has been exposed to risk from MFS.
