The US Department of Defense has issued a final and best offer to the artificial intelligence company Anthropic, requesting full legal access to their AI model Claude for military purposes by the deadline set by Defense Secretary Haggerty on Friday. If Anthropic refuses, they may lose their $200 million defense contract, be listed as a supply chain risk, and face relevant disposal measures under the Defense Production Act.
