World Economic Forum CEO Borge Brende stepped down following revelations of his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Forum Co-Chairs Andre Hoffmann and Larry Fink released a statement on Thursday announcing that Alois Zwinggi will serve as interim CEO and Chairman. The statement noted, "The Trustees will oversee the leadership transition, including initiating the appropriate processes to select a permanent successor." The World Economic Forum earlier this month announced an investigation into Brende. The Norwegian executive had claimed at the time that he was "completely unaware of Epstein's past and criminal activities."
