The US announces a new round of sanctions involving Iran.
On February 25th local time, the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control updated the "Specially Designated Nationals List," imposing sanctions on several individuals, entities, and multiple vessels related to Iran. This round of sanctions includes four Iranian individuals, all related to Iran Aircraft Industries; multiple shipping and trading companies located in Iran, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Panama, the Marshall Islands, and Liberia were listed, involving Iran's oil and liquefied gas transportation networks; at least 13 oil tankers and gas carriers were included in the sanctions, with the vessels flying the flags of Panama, Palau, Barbados, Vanuatu, Comoros, and Iran. The U.S. Department of the Treasury stated that the above-mentioned individuals and entities will face asset freezes and restrictions on transactions with the U.S. financial system.
