Liao Min attended the 49th Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

From February 10 to 11, 2026, the International Fund for Agricultural Development held its 49th Executive Board meeting in Rome, Italy. Liao Min, the Chinese Director and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Finance, led the Chinese delegation to attend the meeting. Liao Min pointed out that the theme of this meeting, which focused on supporting rural youth employment and entrepreneurship, is of great significance. Youth are key drivers for transforming the agricultural food system. IFAD should continue to invest in people and leverage the leading role of youth in the development of digital agriculture; deepen global partnerships to create a comprehensive network of funding, knowledge, and partnerships for rural youth entrepreneurship; and enhance South-South and triangular cooperation to help rural youth in different regions share the benefits of development. During the meeting, Liao Min also met with IFAD President Lario, FAO Director-General Dongyu, Brazilian Deputy Minister of Finance Ruidan, and Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance Director-General Babieray to exchange views on bilateral and multilateral financial issues of mutual concern.
