On February 24th local time, Mexican President Sinboum stated at a press conference that the situation across Mexico has gradually returned to normal two days after the killing of the drug cartel leader Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes. She mentioned that the remaining burnt vehicles on the roads will be cleared on the 24th, and schools nationwide will resume classes on the 25th. She also mentioned that flights at the Guadalajara airport have resumed operations, and the situation at the port of Bayarta is gradually returning to normal. Sinboum reiterated that the government's current goal is security and peace, as well as ensuring the normal hosting of the World Cup in June. For this reason, the Mexican army, navy, and National Guard will further strengthen their vigilance in the states of Jalisco and Michoacn.
