China Energy Construction Group, in partnership with China Energy Engineering Group, has won the bid for the largest independent energy storage project in Africa.

According to a notification from China Energy Construction, China Energy Construction International Group, together with Zhejiang Huodian and Southwest Institute, has won the bid for the largest independent energy storage project in Africa - the Egypt Benban Nefertiti 1000 megawatt-hour energy storage project. The project uses the EPC general contracting model, and construction includes the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of a 220 kV substation, energy storage plant area, as well as the renovation and upgrade of the adjacent substation.
