During the Spring Festival holiday, the duty-free shopping amount on Hainan's outlying islands reached 27.2 billion yuan.

During the 2026 Spring Festival holiday, the duty-free market in Hainan's outlying islands welcomed a peak in consumption. Data released by the Haikou Customs on the 24th showed that during the holiday period, the customs supervised a total of 2.72 billion yuan in duty-free shopping, an increase of 30.8% compared to the previous Spring Festival holiday. The number of items sold was 1.997 million, a 21.9% increase from the previous Spring Festival holiday; and the number of shoppers was 325,000, a 35.4% increase from the previous Spring Festival holiday. The average daily spending, number of shoppers, and number of items purchased during the holiday were 303 million yuan, 36,000 people, and 222,000 items, respectively, all of which showed an increase compared to the previous Spring Festival holiday.
