The China Earthquake Administration immediately launched emergency response work for the 5.1 magnitude earthquake in Yuli County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang.
According to the official measurement of the China Earthquake Network, a magnitude 5.1 earthquake occurred in Yuli County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang at 12:12 on February 23, 2026, with a depth of 15 kilometers. After the earthquake, the China Earthquake Administration quickly activated a Level 4 emergency response, coordinating with the China Earthquake Networks Center and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Earthquake Administration to carry out emergency response work. They requested relevant units to conduct joint consultations, strengthen seismic monitoring and post-seismic trend analysis, and report relevant information in a timely manner. Currently, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Earthquake Administration has dispatched a field work team to the earthquake zone to assist the local government in emergency response work.
