According to Reuters, a senior Iranian official said on Sunday that the United States is planning to lift some sanctions on Iran in exchange for restrictions on Iran's nuclear program. However, there are differences between the two sides on the scope and implementation mechanism of lifting sanctions on Tehran. Iran's position is that Iran's right to enrich uranium within the framework of the Non-Proliferation Treaty must be recognized. Iran can consider a hybrid solution, including exporting some high enriched uranium stockpile, lowering its purity levels, and forming a regional alliance. Iran will not transfer control of its oil and mineral resources to the United States, but American companies can participate in Iran's oil and gas field development as contractors. The official also stated that the two sides plan to restart negotiations in early March, and this round of negotiations may lead to a temporary agreement.
